From 1 January 2027, ESNZ and NZPCA will begin phasing out helmet models that no longer meet our updated safety criteria. While the yellow helmet tags currently in use will remain unchanged, the range of helmets eligible for tagging will be revised as follows: • Helmets certified only* to ARB HS 2012 will no longer be accepted for new tagging. • Helmets certified only* to ASTM F1163 (2004a, 2013, or 2015) will no longer be accepted for new tagging. • Helmets certified only* to AS/NZ 3838 (2006) will no longer be accepted for new tagging. • Helmets certified only* to VG1 will no longer be accepted for new tagging.
